2009 Golf Classic

The 15th annual Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation Golf Classic was held July 13 at Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney. The event netted nearly $41,000, which will be used for the Foundation’s endowment fund to benefit the patients of Wilson Memorial Hospital.

168 golfers played in the event that was corporately supported by three Titanium sponsors: Dale Peterson and Associates, Inc.; Embarq; and Premier Health Care Services, Inc. The event attracted a total of 67 sponsors.

Contest winners included: Jim Kerber, closest-to-the-pin, who won a one-week stay in a condominium at an RCI Affiliate property anywhere in the world; Andy Counts won the putting contest and received the $200 reward.

Overall first place winners of the event included: Bruce Dickman, Greg Dickman, John Dunlap and Ken Bosslet of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Services team; second place included: Andy Counts, Tim Geise, Norm Barhorst and Charlie Ryan of the US Bank Team; third place winners were GDAHA team members Bryan Bucklew, Greg Page, Jim Powers and Michael Sandner. Fourth Place winners were: Dawn Eilert, Jeff Raible, Russ and Rene Gottemoeller. The SKINS winning teams sharing an $800 prize were Ferguson Construction, Kettering Anesthesia, Unity National Bank, Ruese Insurance, Lima Memorial and Northwest Medical. Pete DeLuke won a free sleep study from the Wilson Memorial Hospital cardiopulmonary department valued at $1,700.

All golfers received various gift items and door prizes. Proximity prizes were awarded on each of the 27 holes. 39 volunteers also helped make the event a successful event and enjoyable day.
