Angel Fund

The Wilson Health Foundation has established a fund which enables the Hospital to assist Wilson Health Hospice Care patients and their caregivers with an immediate need and is specifically intended to improve the quality of life for patients who are living with life-limiting illness.

Sometimes, due to economic constraints, the situations in which our Hospice patients and caregivers find themselves require additional support to maintain a reasonable level of dignity, self-respect, and basic life needs beyond medical care.

The Angel Fund will assist Wilson Health Hospice Care in making that additional support available. There are specific qualifying requirements in order to receive financial assistance from the Angel Fund. The staff of Wilson Health Hospice Care will facilitate the application process to request funds.

Through the Angel Fund, money can be disbursed quickly for a Hospice patient’s urgent needs and may include, among others, fans or a window air-conditioner to provide a more comfortable environment, utilities, home safety features, air-purifiers, transportation, groceries, hearing aids, denture adjustments, eyeglasses, warm clothes and blankets.

Although various community services may be able to assist in supplying some, if not all of these items, these services frequently are not immediately available in a time of critical need. Often, the Hospice patient and their caregivers have urgent needs that must be addressed as quickly as possible to provide the high quality, compassionate care that has become the hallmark of the Wilson Health Hospice Care Program.

We believe the establishment of the Angel Fund will assist Wilson Health Hospice Care in providing the best possible care for our patients and caregivers.
